MarketCheck MCP servers

Automotive market data for AI agents. MarketCheck runs three hosted Model Context Protocol servers that give Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients live access to vehicle listings, VIN decoding, price predictions, listing history and ready-made market reports for the US, Canada and the UK.

All three are remote (Streamable HTTP) servers. There is nothing to install or run locally: add the URL to your client and sign in where needed.

These servers are also published in the official MCP Registry as com.marketcheck/api, com.marketcheck/docs and com.marketcheck/marketcheck-ai-reports. Copies of the published server.json files are in servers/.

MarketCheck API

The MarketCheck data API as MCP tools. Search active and recently off-market dealer listings, predict a vehicle's market price with the comparables behind it, pull a VIN's listing history and decode VINs with NeoVIN.

Who it is for: developers, data teams and agent builders who already use (or want to try) the MarketCheck API and want their assistant to query it directly.

Auth: OAuth. Add the URL, sign in with your MarketCheck developer account, choose which tools to allow and which API key to use, then click Allow. Usage counts against the plan of the key you pick, and you can change or revoke access any time from API Keys in the developer portal. Don't have a key yet? Sign up at developers.marketcheck.com.

For clients that cannot do OAuth, the same tools are available with an API key in the URL: https://api.marketcheck.com/mcp?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY (see the MCP getting-started guide). Treat that URL like a password.

MarketCheck Docs

The complete MarketCheck API documentation inside your coding assistant. It searches the docs, reads any page and returns the exact parameters and a real sample request and response for every REST endpoint, so the assistant writes working integration code the first time.

Who it is for: anyone writing code against the MarketCheck REST API.

Auth: none. It is free, needs no sign-in and does not count against any plan. It returns documentation only; to run live queries, add the MarketCheck API server as well.

MarketCheck AI Desk

On-demand vehicle valuations and market reports that run inside Claude or ChatGPT (or any MCP client) and also open as shareable hosted web reports. Ask in plain English and the assistant picks the right report.

Who it is for: dealers, appraisers, insurers, lenders and car buyers who want a finished answer rather than raw data.

Auth: OAuth. Add the URL, sign in to ai.marketcheck.com on the consent screen, then click Allow. Reports are paid from your AI Desk balance, and each report states its price before it runs. Browsing local inventory and the account tools are free. Most reports cover the US; the Vehicle Valuation Report and Full Market Capture also run for UK and Canada accounts.

Install

Use the URL of the server you want from the table at the top. The examples below use all three; keep only the ones you need. For the API server, clients without OAuth can use https://api.marketcheck.com/mcp?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY instead.

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

Open your profile menu, then Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector.
Enter a name (for example MarketCheck AI Desk) and the server URL, for example https://ai.marketcheck.com/mcp. No API key is needed.
Click Add, then Connect, sign in and approve access.

Custom connectors are available on Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise, an admin may need to add the connector for the workspace. AI Desk also has a one-click Add to Claude button at ai.marketcheck.com/install.

ChatGPT (developer mode)

In ChatGPT settings, turn on Developer mode.
Add a new plugin (connector), give it a name and paste the server URL (for example https://ai.marketcheck.com/mcp) as the connection. Keep OAuth as the authentication method.
Save, sign in on the MarketCheck consent screen and click Allow.

Custom MCP connectors need a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Team, Business or Enterprise). ChatGPT shows a notice that custom MCP servers introduce risk; that is expected.

Claude Code

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code and choose Authenticate for the AI Desk and API servers. The docs server needs no sign-in.

The API server entry uses the API-key URL so it works without OAuth. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with a key from developers.marketcheck.com. AI Desk signs in with OAuth, so use it from a client that supports MCP OAuth.

Other clients

Any client that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP can use the same URLs. Add the URL as a remote server and approve the consent screen the first time you connect.

Data semantics

Every price is an asking (listed) price as advertised by the dealer, not a transaction price.
Listings that have left the market (off-market or "past 90 days" listings) carry their last asking price.
The MarketCheck Price is a predicted market listing price for the vehicle, based on comparable listings.
